Interview

MootUS 23:  Who are you and how does your company help your clients?

Blindside Networks: BigBlueButton — the most popular open-source virtual classroom for online learning. Our mission is to enable every teacher to create great minds through providing the most learner-centric virtual classroom in the world.

MootUS 23:  Have you attended a Moodle Moot before?

Blindside Networks: Yes, we have attended well over a dozen Moodle Moot conferences!

MootUS 23:  What is the title of your presentation at this year’s Moot?

Blindside Networks: “Building the World’s Most Effective Virtual Classroom with BigBlueButton”

MootUS 23:  Give us a brief description of what we can look forward to?

Blindside Networks: The goal of BigBlueButton is to build the world’s most effective virtual classroom, one that maximizes time for applied learning and feedback. This workshop will dive into teaching and learning theory and invite participants to collaborate on how best to incorporate this theory into a virtual class.

MootUS 23:  Why have you chosen to present this topic?

Blindside Networks: We believe the world is moving away from video-centric to a pedagogic-centric virtual classroom. An effective virtual classroom is based on methodology (not technology) and in this workshop we will share the methodology that guides the development of BigBlueButton.

MootUS 23:  Share with us one tool or technique you or your client has implemented while using Moodle which has benefited them and their organization!

Blindside Networks: BigBlueButton!   According to moodle.org, BigBlueButton is used by over 20k Moodle sites around the world. Here is a link to our listing on the plugin directory of Moodle.com
